“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
It seems the further back you go, even to the very beginning in the book of Genesis, the more significant the events and lessons derived from them are.
The literal word
I believe, unless there are clear reasons not to, that events in the Bible should be interpreted literally. That is, when God said that the Messiah would be born of a virgin He meant literally born of a virgin. Likewise, when the scriptures state that God took one of Adam’s ribs and fashioned Eve from it we should believe that is literally what took place. With that premise in mind, let us consider what possible insights we can glean from this miracle of the creation of the mother of all living.
To begin with, a woman’s nature is derived from how she was created. She is not a whole person simply missing a “part” but one part who is missing a “whole” person. In the beginning she was near Adam’s heart and covered by him. This is still, in a very primal way, where every woman feels most comfortable until this day. A woman desires to be near the heart of her man, covered, and protected by him. She literally desires, as much as physically possible to be one with him, bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh.
Near to his heart
Her most natural place, relative to her man, is to be a support just as she was originally within the first Adam. She desires to hold and help protect his heart and go where he goes always being by his side. Everything that a woman is flows out of her genesis and she is this way because of how God created Eve and thus all her daughters.
A woman’s submission to her man is not something she has to force but something that comes, if she is in submission to God and true to her nature, from her heart. It is a beautiful thing akin to watching a majestic bird soar in the sky. A woman, when she is fully in her element, is an amazing creation.
Covered by his love
When a man covers a woman she is feels complete again. This act of marriage is the basis of her submission in marriage. It is in her nature to unite with Adam and to help complete him. He covers all of her and she covers a part of him and they both become whole again. This is the essence of unity and is a picture of the spiritual love relationship God wants to have with His bride through His Son Jesus Christ. We are to be spiritually united with God through Christ to such an extent that we become one body.
The mystery of the Church is starting to be revealed to God’s servants in these last days because the marriage supper of the Lamb is fast approaching. The Bride of Christ is making herself ready to wed her finance’. Due to the marriage supper being but a prelude to the consummation of the marriage our thoughts and His thoughts naturally turn towards intimacy. We begin to realize that much of the way a man is with a maid points to spiritual truths that illuminate the degree of oneness that God wishes to have with His own people.
Hell hath no fury, like an Arc Angel scorned
The Devil hates Eve with a malevolence and fury that is not of this Earth. Our adversary wants to destroy the daughters of Eve and is trying to make them despise how they were created and loathe where they feel most comfortable. The father of lies wants them to change their natural use into that which is unnatural through making it seem better to be with another woman than with a man. The accuser of the brethren wants to take out of their bodies the very flesh that makes them unique and special by promoting hysterectomy on a mass scale. Satan wants to destroy the fruit of their womb even before their children have a chance to catch their first breath. It is nothing less than total war on women waged by a fallen and enraged arch angel that could not, cannot, and will accept the fact that God made someone more fearfully and wonderfully made than he.
As men, we need to understand the nature of women so that we can deal with them in wisdom and with compassion. A woman’s place is literally by our side. Like a rib they are dependent upon us for everything. We cover them and keep them safe because they are part of us. While we live and move about in the world they want to nurture and be with us because we are their world. We should not cast them away, if possible, because without a covering they are vulnerable and defenseless.
The harlot rides the Dragon
The spirit of the Harlot Church is beginning to dominate this age and seeking to ride and control the coming world government. Observe that the United Nations and almost every other government agency is all about woman’s rights and empowerment. Note that all women are portrayed as victims and second class citizens who need the government to protect, support, and promote them. Consider how men are blamed for all the female condition and a wedge is continually being driven between the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve.
When our governments seek to replace almost every aspect of a husbands duty then women are truly unprotected. They become political pawns to be used and manipulated by unscrupulous men who only seek their votes to gain and keep power. By doing whatever women want they degrade and disrespect their place in our society by not protecting them from the consequences of their actions. Men were given authority over women because sometimes they need to say no when women want us to say yes. Men need to say no to abortion because women, who are compromised in this way, need to have someone to value them and their children’s future when they are scared. Men need to say no when feminists try to despise marriage and preach that they are better off marrying other women. Men need to stand in the gap when the world wants to make women into the image of the Harlot church and say “no” to overtly sexualized clothing because godliness is enough adornment for any woman.
Live according to God’s design
Christians are in this world but we are not of it. Christian men and women should not despise the handiwork of their creator but rather seek to fulfill His design with all their combined might. It is not wrong for a woman to simply want to be a woman. It is not wrong to, like the mother of all living, simply want to have children and care for them. It is not wrong to, like Sara, to call your husband lord because you respect and reverence him. In essence, it is not wrong to be what God meant to be.
In conclusion, the fashion of this world is passing away, therefore, we should not seek to be a part of it. We are citizens of a heavenly kingdom and as men and women from that far country we do not need to ever apologize for being different because we, in fact, are. We come from a place where everyone hopes to go and we know it is a good land flowing with spiritual milk and honey. Thus, let men be all that God made them to be and let women be all that God made them to be. In this way we will become all that our Creator made us to be and testify of Him through our loving relationships.
