mountain

Gods says,

“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.”

Genesis 2:8

In the beginning, God created Eden.  We don’t know how big Eden was, but we do know it was the holy habitation of our Lord.  Our Father made the whole of Eden a paradise of earthly delights.  Perfect in beauty, God lived there in His first temple.  Each day, our Lord descended from the mount of the congregation and communed with Adam in the cool of the day.  A river flowed out from under the threshold of His Holy of Holies cascading downward, watering Eden until it forked into the Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and Euphrates rivers.

The mountain of the house of the Lord

When God talks about His Holy Mountain I believe our Father speaks about His original abode in Eden.  Again and again, throughout scripture we see this motif.  For instance, God says,

In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me thither. In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.”

Ezekiel 40:1,2

Ezekiel goes on to describe millennial Israel and the mountain of the house of the Lord.  I believe all such references to God’s high place harken back to the original mountain of God in Eden.

Lucifer desired to ascend the mountain of God

God says,

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:   I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”

Isaiah 14:12-14

I believe these scriptures reference God’s holy mountain in Eden once again.  The mount of the congregation refers to the mountain of God and His heavenly court from which the original river flowed to Eden.

God met Israel on a mountain,

“Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.”

Exodus 3:1

God always seem to be on a mountain.

In Micah, God says,

“But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.”

Micah 4:1

Here God restores His home on the top of the mountains, just as it was in the beginning of the world

Even New Jerusalem rests on a high mountain

Finally,

“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,”

Revelation 21:10

All these mountains are images of the first holy mountain situated in the northern parts of Eden.  In fact, New Jerusalem is a restoration of the first Eden.  That is why you see the tree of life in the midst of the river there.

It is also highly likely that some day, the Bride of Christ will ascend to the mountain of the house of the Lord to live with Him forever.  We call this the Rapture.

Thy kingdom come on earth

Eden, in the beginning, was the kingdom of heaven on Earth.  His holy mountain was God’s domain.  We really don’t know how big Eden was.  However, I suspect that the paradise of God was much larger than most imagine.  Many times artists picture Adam surrounded by animals, but in truth Eden was probably the size of Middle East. The land promised to Abraham, from the euphates to the Nile, is the size of the original garden of Eden. The river that came down from God’s mountain was large enough to split into four mighty rivers. Could it be that mount Ararat was the original mountain of God in Eden?  Perhaps that is why God chose that place for the Ark to land after the flood. Maybe the human race began again from where it originally started.  Remember, God made Adam somewhere and then placed Him eastward in Eden.  It is possible that God made Adam on the very place the Ark came to rest.

The task of man, because God gave Him dominion, was to extend God’s kingdom to cover the whole face of the whole earth.  Once that was accomplished, perhaps the universe lay before us too.  It is likely the initial plan of God was to populate billions of galaxies with saints who loved and worshipped Him.

Water always flows down hill, therefore the river that fed Adam’s home flowed down from the heights where God dwelt.  It is interesting that most mythological gods dwell on high.  It seems somewhere in the back of our psyches we remember that God must dwell on high.

The high places of God

As the river of Eden flowed from God’s high places, so there is a river that flows from under the threshold of the millennial temple.  Even the river coursing from New Jerusalem flows downward from that city set on a hill.

Esther says,

“If I had a big, glorious garden I would walk it daily.  Eden, being attached to God’s temple, is like the grounds that surround it.  When Adam and Eve sinned our Father put them outside His domain, stationing a cherubim at the gate so they could not return.

I believe that God still walks in the garden.  Everything in it moves and has its being in tune with its creator.  Remember, how we experienced that when we swam in the river Gihon?  Everything from the plants, animals, water, and even rocks flowed with the power of the Lord’s presence.

Welcome back to Eden

Adam And Eve initially had the full fellowship and intimacy with God that we now enjoy through Jesus Christ.  His work on the cross removed the cherubim from Edens gate.  Reconciliation equals returning to innocence, back to union with God and walking with Him in Eden.

All our experiences  with God happen because we returned to Eden, where our spirits aligned with Him once again.  What is happening to us is basically the Final Feast, Back to the Garden, the Restoration of Fallen Man.

Our restoration is a “current event” too and not just some futuristic hope.  John the apostle, experienced this in his vision of  Revelation chapter 21.  People assume that all these things are futuristic, however, when embraced fully, the are all present tense.

Restoration as we touch Him

You shall be RESTORED by the renewal of your mind… now. We are seated on high on right side of God…now.  We have authority as ambassadors of heaven presently. Approaching near to His throne, we reach out and touch Him at this very moment.  I am walking with my Beloved once again in His garden today.  I am intimate with Him and His banner over me is love. He penetrates me.  Now, in His presence, there is nothing that can separate me from His love

My beloved has set me  free and I am free indeed.  Free to come back into His garden and live with Him forever. I’m free from the constraints and chains of this world. Through His sacrifice, hell has no power over me.

Mankind’s original purpose was to be God’s wife.  Now, through Jesus Christ, we come back full circle to the intimacy, love and closeness  we enjoyed with God in Eden.

God’s wife walks with Him on His holy mountain, the Garden of Eden restored.  We join intimately with Him in the courtyard, garden, river, and wherever love overtakes us.”

To know God simply meet Him

In conclusion, people don’t need to be taught about God to know Him.  That is a terrible fallacy propagated by natural minded people.  All people have to do is open their hearts and minds to our Lord, experiencing Him by revelation.  The truth is, we become like Him through being in His presence.  Esther and I speak through revelation.  These words come from the Holy Spirit who lives in us.  We cannot know these things except by being one with Him.

David says,

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
