shall be in you

God says,

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

John 14:16-18

The comforter is our Father. The Holy Spirit is simply the Spirit of God who is Holy…hence Holy Spirit. The character of His Spirit is truth. The world could not receive Christ because they would not receive the truth…i.e. God manifest in the flesh. Those of the world are natural minded and will not believe anything that they cannot “see”. However, Christ’s disciples knew Christ because they received Him by faith through their spirits.

This is why Peter says,

“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 16:16,17

The Holy Spirit dwelt with them in Christ, but soon, on the day of Pentecost, The comforter (The Holy Spirit of God) would dwell “in” them through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit of Christ shall be in you

Jesus said, “I am my Father are one.” Essentially there was no difference between the two,  because Jesus yielded perfectly to His Father. While Jesus will return physically  in the future, the Spirit of Christ did return through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Thus, Peter says, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Jesus is the express image of the Father expressed through Him to the world.  When the Holy Spirit infilled the disciples, that image now expresses Himself through us.

The Spirit of Christ dwells in his body of believers

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”

Colossians 1:26:27

If you want to be intimate with Jesus seek to connect with Him through the body of Christ. People often times look towards heaven hoping to find the presence of God when, in reality, He now dwells in each of us through the in filling of the Holy Spirit. The intimacy we seek is found by opening up to one another in love and sharing Christ with each other.  He shall be in you, therefore look for Him in the eyes of those He dwells in.
