Sweet Lord

What If God Was One Of Us?

Sometimes in the morning, as I wake, my mind is usually clear.  Today, in a moment of clarity, I thought about secular songs like George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord” and Joan Osborne’s “What If God Was One Of Us“.  The popularity of these songs demonstrates that many have a profound desire to connect with God. However, if they want God, why do they have such a difficult time finding Him?

The difference is that most people want to make God into their own image instead of conforming to His image. Much like designer clothes, many want a designer God that makes them look good. While they acknowledge their desire to connect with their creator, they reject the way that God made for them to do it. Our Creator says through Christ,

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

John 14:16

Our sweet Lord, Jesus Christ, is one of us

People reject THE TRUTH that if you don’t come to our sweet Lord as He provides, there is no way to get to Him at all.

The power of the Antichrist is that he presents an image of man as god that the world, in their rebellion, can agree with.  The death-wound to the best, spoken of in Revelation chapter 12, is a false resurrection. In the presence of “Strong Delusion” the world believes that lie and wonders after the beast as if He is God.  This culminates in the image of the beast being set in the temple in Jerusalem as if he is god.

Most refuse to connect with the one true God because it requires repentance.  Many people, like George Harrison, do not wish to acknowledge that they are sinners, because it is too hard on their pride. They want to decide what God is and then worship their own image. This is the core of idolatry. Though Jesus is the first born of many brethren, we are to become like him, not bring him down to our level, like the popular song says, thinking He is just a slob like one of us.

The rise of unrighteous inclusiveness

The Antichrist is “THE” man of sin, which means that sin defines him. Oddly enough, this son of perdition is the very personification of inclusiveness. Under the rule of the Antichrist every perversion will be accepted and celebrated. We see a foretaste of this today in the push for lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgendered rights (LBGT). Eventually every other sinful thing you can imagine will be “included” too. Everything, that is, except belief in Jesus. Belief in the one true God will be the only act that will not be accepted and, eventually, punishable by death.

The world government is ready to rock and roll.  We are mere years away from the revelation of the man of sin, the son of perdition, the manifestation of Satan incarnate. Most do not realize it or how fast it is coming, they only feel a nebulous fear and growing uneasiness.

The rise of righteous unity

On the other hand, the rise of Connections is the rise of the man-child, the church of Philadelphia. It is the love of God shed abroad in our hearts and a second coming (spiritually speaking) of Christ in the form of the body of Christ.  We are the manifested sons of God.  The thing that defines us is our submission to “THE TRUTH” through our love one for another while the thing that defines those who are about to perish with Antichrist is “LACK OF SUBMISSION TO THE TRUTH” and hatred of those who do.

Though I realize that those who read my writings must be shown what God is saying by revelation, I also think to myself, “how much more plain can our Father make it?” We are like children playing on the edge of cliff, carelessly unaware of the danger a few feet away.  We are awash with truth in this day and age, yet people seem to treat “THE TRUTH” like just another grain of sand in an endless beach of knowledge.

Be a wise virgin

This is the time to stock up on the oil of the Holy Spirit.  It is the time to work diligently for the night comes when no one can work. Intimacy with God and each other is the gateway back to the Garden.  It is the way God has foreordained mankind to connect with Him. We have been set up by Satan to reject intimacy in all it’s Godly forms. Instead, we are being taught to accept a counterfeit that defiles and degrades what God originally made.

In the end, it is our submission to the will of our sweet Lord that defines us. Submission allows us access to heaven while rebellion guarantees us admission to hell.  It is not about what we think is right or good but only about what God reveals.  If we do not begin to trust our sweet Lord, we will fail prey to the coming night. Listen, hear, and obey on time until it becomes second nature to you. Meditate upon the difference in these two songs so that you understand the distinction between the natural man and the Spirit of God.

Compare “My Sweet Lord” sung by George Harrison and “Revelation Song” sung by Kari Jobe.  Which one truly honors God?
