Be Thou My Vision

Our vision is to be like Christ

God says,

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Genesis 1:26,27

Christ is the pattern son, the template of what God desires us to be. Jesus is the express image of our Father and pleases Him in all things.  The way that Jesus does this is through living by every word that precedes out of the mouth of God every moment of every day.  Whatever God leads Him to do, at any given moment, in any situation, Christ always does.

Be thou my vision

Living a vibrant Christian life does not take years of study or great depth of knowledge, it is simply doing what God says whenever He says to do it.  That is pretty much it.  Even the scriptures are not mandatory for following God.  Up until Moses, mankind only had the voice of God to depend on.  Noah, Enoch, Job, and Abraham had no scriptures to read, yet they are men of the greatest faith and deeds.

We don’t have to be perfect in and of ourselves, all we must do is say yes to the Holy Spirit.  As God lives through us, we manifest His Spirit, which is perfect.  As we allow Christ to “be thou my vision” we become like Him and do the works of our Father.  Most everything else in Christianity is extraneous and of a secondary nature.

Refuse to be intimidated by blind men

Finally,  don’t let others intimidate you into doing what they do.  Only do as the Holy Spirit leads you and allow God to be your mentor and counselor.  Do not ask the blind to lead the way or you both with fall into a ditch.
