Deliver us from knowledge

God, Deliver Us From Knowledge

God says,

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Genesis 2:17

I am so sick of teaching.  It is a class of false doctrine all by its self.  The lie is that if you know more about God you will be a better Christian.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

God forbade the knowledge of good as well as the knowledge of evil.  Mankind was always meant to live by direct revelation from our Almighty.  Living by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God every moment of every day is the breath of life.

Revelation is the only path to true knowledge

Christians are ever learning, but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. This is because knowledge of the truth can only be received through revelation. Bible Colleges epitomize this error and spiritually kill those who are caught in their snares.  Moreover, those who become doctors of the law make those they teach to eat of the forbidden fruit too, bringing death to many.

It is partaking of the knowledge of good and evil that started this whole mess in the first place, so teaching the knowledge of good is a dead-end street. The apostle Paul, incidentally, taught by revelation he received in the deserts of Damascus and not by his education as a Pharisee.

Jesus is revelation

Jesus lived and taught by revelation too. This is why the son of God was constantly at odds with the religious establishment of his day. The Jewish leadership thought the Christ was heretical because he did not agree with their doctrine. Yet Jesus was the word made flesh and his life showed how out of step with God they were.

God, deliver us from knowledge. Lead us by your Spirit of revelation in every situation we find ourselves in. Cause us to hear Your voice for ourselves and trust what you say above what we think. Help us to return to innocence before You and live by every word that proceeds out of your mouth.  Amen.
