Spiritual Connections: Finding God In Our Brethren
Paul says,
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
When you finally come to it, the truth I am about to share with you seems totally obvious. It’s like “why didn’t I see that before?” However, don’t feel badly, all these things are given by revelation from above and until He gives it, you can’t see it.
Jesus prays,
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.”
John 17:20-12
We are the representation of God on the earth right now because, through being Spirit filled, that same Spirit which raised Christ from the dead now dwells in us. We are the manifestation of the sons of God.
God used to work through Angels, now He works through us
It used to be that God brought messages to earth and demonstrated His power through angels. However, now we are the messengers of God, sent forth as sheep among wolves, to do His will. Therefore, if you want to find God, look towards those who are filled with His Spirit. If you want to hear God, let them speak to you. If you want to see God look into their eyes. Do you desire to feel God? Let Him hold you through them. Other people, are in fact, our source of God.
Being Spirit filled is not something we do on occasion, but is a continuous way of life. As fundamental to life as breathing, when we walk in the Spirit, we naturally do the things of His Spirit. God is in us, reveals Himself through us, and we speak and act like Jesus Christ.
Finding God in our brethren
Walking in the Spirit is not something hard to do when we cease from our own labors. Like being carried down a large river, the Spirit takes us wherever He desires. The only time our journey becomes difficult, is when we fight against the current of His love.
When I see Jesus in your eyes, it makes me love you. Finding God in your brethren causes trust. Moreover, when they speak as Christ speaks, we listen.
The Tabernacle Experience is all about letting God have His way in whatever He wants to do. Since God is love, we become love. Loving those around us as He does, our lives become filled with joy and wonder as we see God manifest through us. Blessings become common place as we do and say the right things at the right times to those we meet.
We have more than enough to do God’s will
We also find we have more than enough to do God’s will. Things that seemed too little before, because we were afraid, are easily enough now. Our time becomes His time as our thoughts become His thoughts. We see as God sees and the things of this life become strangely dim as heaven becomes real to us.
In conclusion, YHWH resides in our brethren so let them be our source of fellowship with Him. Stop looking at the sky and dare to look into the eyes of other believers. If you are Spirit led, I promise you’ll find Jesus in their eyes. Amen.
People are often times more a source of God than going to church. He is more outside of it than inside it. Moreso because church institutions are polluted by so much darkness and demons.
But so much in our life, if we realise or open our eyes to it, is directed by God or led by God as we interact with others.
It’s important to hold being Spirit led as a high point of spiritual habits. When someting becomes a spiritual habit, it is so natural you do not have to even think about it. When we make hearing His voice and following it a priority, we natural do the things of our Father.
living like this leads to a point where we actually don’t even need to think about listening out for God anymore, Hearing becomes automatic and it just happens. Obeying on time whatever God says, just is who we are and want to be.
So although in these essays you write out the reality of what God does, kind of listing it to help people’s minds understand it – really it is not something that once practiced and made into a spiritual habit you need to even think about doing. It just happens!
This song kept coming to me as I was showering thinking about this essay and contemplating it so i was singing it! So wanted to share here for you…
Spirit of the living God
Lovingly,
Esther
Dear Connections,
Everything is new until it isn’t. I think the biggest mistake that the Catholic Church made and the Protestant church that followed it, was raising the epistles of the Apostles to the status of scripture. By doing that, we bound ourselves to never go beyond what they wrote about. Thus we have been hampered all these centuries in our walk with God. The truth is, we don’t need to go back to the way things were done in the first century church, we need to go beyond it.
Big hugs,
Michael
Dear Michael –
I love this: “When I see Jesus in your eyes, it makes me love you. Finding God in your brethren causes trust.”
I think that’s the beautiful foundation that spiritual connections are built on: Trust.
This seems to be a supernatural thing that God does as He “assigns” us to one another in spiritual connections. I think that’s because it’s His agape love that is the “substance” of these connections – the cord that binds us – so all the attributes of that Love are supernaturally present between us immediately when He connects us, including trust – “(Love) always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (1 Corinthians 13:7).
This is such a great truth, too: “Therefore, if you want to find God, look towards those who are filled with His Spirit. If you want to hear God, let them speak to you. If you want to see God look into their eyes. Do you desire to feel God? Let Him hold you through them.”
When the Israelites were in the wilderness, God fed them supernaturally with manna from heaven. But when the widows in the book of Acts were lacking food (Acts 6:1), God’s plan and desire was to meet their need through the Body of Christ. This has been His intention since He birthed the church: To use His Body to represent Him and meet each others’ needs through His love – that’s why He calls us to love one another through one another.
Like you said, “We also find we have more than enough to do God’s will. Things that seemed too little before, because we were afraid, are easily enough now.”
Another one of the powers and blessings of spiritual connections is healing – the effect of Agape Love being poured out onto us and into us. This Love drives away fear, and that fear that held us back, along with the hurts we have endured, are dissolved in the power of His Agape Love that casts out fear in us (1 John 4:18).
He brings this all to pass as we yield to Him by embracing the unions He desires to bless us with.
What an incredible gift He has made available to us!
Thanks so much for your insights!
Big hugs and Love –
Dear CL,
Lovely comment! You add a lot when you share your perspectives and revelation. I particulally like the idea that God “assigns” us to each other. Isn’t that the truth. God joins us to each another as He sees fit and thus the Body of Christ is knit together by Divine Love.
Many try to control God, thinking that what He wants to do is foolhardy or unsafe. They apply scripture to justify their fears, yet in the end, they are just holding on tightly to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Once we let loose the forbidden fruit and begin to walk in revelation, our confidence grows and we start to function as our Lord intended!
Thank you so much for shareing, I really appreciate it!
Big hugs and lots of love,
Michael
