going home

Is Where Your Heart Is

Do you remember as a child how you were excited about going home? Sometimes, after a long trip, the thought of going home and sleeping in your own bed was they only thing on your mind.

Like a child longing for the familiar, we are excited about going home too. The truth is, this present earth is not our home for we are children of another world. We are literal citizens of heaven. As the fashion of this world is passing away, our awareness of going home is growing.

Time is a function of this creation. Time only became meaningful when we became mortal. Before that, when Adam and Eve were immortal, though time existed, they took no more notice of it than you would a single grain of sand on an endless beach.

Straddling two creations

Moreover, because we have foretaste of our inheritance through the gift of the Holy Spirit, we straddle two creations. Depending on how much we yield to YHWH’s Spirit, we are more or less in this world but not of it. Walking in the Spirit really means that we walk in heavenly places in the New Heavens and New Earth.

Jesus did this all the time and we see it, for example. at the mount of transfiguration.

Matthew writes,

“And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,  And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.  And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.”

Matthew 17:1-3

Most people think that Peter and John saw a vision of how Christ as he would be in the future. However, what they saw was Christ as He was presently.

God says,

“…Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. “

2 Kings 6:17

The army of God, while visible to Elisha all the time, wasn’t visible to his servant until God open his eyes. Likewise, Christ walked in heavenly places all the time, yet Peter and John only saw Him as he really was when God caused them to see.

Demons know who Jesus is

Demons, on the other hand, who live in the spirit, know perfectly well who Christ is.

“And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”

Matthew 8:28,29

We are going home

The truth is, as we walk in the Spirit, we are going home. In essence, we straddle two creations too, just like Jesus did. At the resurrection, as we receive our glorified bodies, we complete our journey and are no more in this world.

Being born again is a very practical thing, not some mystical idea. We have been born once into this creation by the will of the flesh, but we must be born again into the next creation by the will of His Spirit. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead quickens (makes alive) our mortal bodies and we are changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, the dead in Christ are raised incorruptible and we, which are alive and remain, meet Jesus in the air. Thus shall we all be with our Lord forevermore in the New Heavens and New Earth.

The powers of the world to come

All the bells and whistles of the Spirit led life only work in this creation because we are living the next. This is what walking in the Spirit means. We experience the powers of the world to come in this present creation through having a foretaste of our inheritance. Normally, (meaning according to this creations laws), we can’t walk on water. However, in the world to come we can if God asks us to to do that. Calming a storm by speaking to it is impossible here, but over there the elements naturally obey us. In fact everything that we think of as a miracle here is just “life as usual” in the world to come.

Going home is a process you’ve already begun. The day you gave your heart to Jesus you began packing your bags to leave this creation. When you allowed God’s Holy Spirit to fill you, you began to experience His new creation. Through the Tabernacles Experience, we begin to live in His New Creation and and love as God loves.

We are children of the supernatural

In conclusion, we are children of the supernatural. To various degrees according to our faith, we live in the world to come. The glory that was ours from the foundations of this world, manifests through us as we yield to the Holy Ghost. This is why nothing we ask in Christ’s name is impossible here, because nothing we ask in Jesus name is impossible over there.

Finally, live by revelation. Simply allow God to speak to your heart and hear His voice. Nothing I write is from study and nothing you hear of what I pen is given by knowledge. As Jesus says, “flesh and blood does not reveal this to you”. The only way you understand the things of His Spirit is through receiving them in your own spirit. Though you might “think” you understand, what is really happening is that God is revealing them to you. Amen.
