Holy Intimacy
Today, in the Holy of Holies, I desire to talk about intimacy with God and each other. This is the essence of the coming revival that is about the sweep the world. Loving God in and through one another is the “sign” of Tabernacles. Coming together in love is what God wants us to do in these last days. Moreover, many things that we believed were “settled” are not. God’s love challenges us as He takes control of our lives through His Holy Spirit.
It’s all about the revelation of God
To begin with, we are starting to live by revelation rather than reason. God is speaking to us and we are hearing His voice. As we obey what God says we don’t fulfill the lusts of our lower nature. Not judging by what we know, we judge all things by who we know. Doctrine becomes irrelevant because we naturally do the things contained within the law through yielding the Holy Spirit who wrote it.
The Holy Spirit always challenges our false beliefs. God is interested in doing “His” will, not ours. Our Lover is not concerned with our way because He wants to have His way. Therefore, whatever God wants to do, however He wants to do it, is what should be done.
God loves us through each other
May people come to God because they have messed up. People do drugs, sleep with the wrong people, and indulged in sin until they hit rock bottom. Learning the world does not satisfy, people turn to Christ, confessing their sins, and give their lives to Jesus. However, salvation is just the start of our journey towards heaven.
Churches, unfortunately, snare many new believers. Converts learn what to believe instead of personally experiencing who they believe in. Consequently, many never actually get to know God personally. New converts mold to church doctrine, becoming carbon copies of that particular belief system. Followers not only imbibe the scriptures, but also take on many preconceptions and prejudices. Consequently, if differ from their belief system, many react as though you are attacking their family.
The Holy of Holies is about as close as you can get
Here in the Holy of Holies, what does it mean to have a spiritual connection with God and each other? How do you react when God connects you so deeply with another that you breath as one? How do you handle the fact that, if you are in close proximity your connection, you lose all semblance of personal space? What is true purity and what does Divine Intimacy look like? Is Holy Spirit led intimacy, as the Holy Spirit leads, something to be embraced or avoided?
Many have sinned in the area of physical intimacy. Men and women use their bodies in inappropriate ways, feeling deeply ashamed afterwards. Aside from the physical ramifications of such actions, sin causes deep emotional scars to their spirits and souls. Some people even close themselves off to any form of affection for fear of falling once again into temptation.
Closing yourself off to others closes you off to God
The problem with closing yourself off to intimacy is that you also close yourself off to God. God dwells in us and if we refuse to be close to one another we cannot be close to God.
Spiritual Connections live by revelation, just like they do in the New Heavens and New Earth. In that place people live and breathe the Holy Spirit. For new world saints, everything is permissible when nothing is done outside God’s will. Consequently, the Holy Ghost leads us in the area of intimacy too. In the world to come even sex is a byproduct of spiritual love. Here is a truth,
“We have an earnest of our inheritance in this world through the in-filling of the Holy Spirit, therefore we begin to live as if we are in God’s new creation.”
When in the New Creation do as the saints do
What this means is that the customs and mores of our present world begin to be over ridden by the next. Actions, which may seem inappropriate when you are not Spirit led, become appropriate when you are Spirit lead. This realization tends to mess with people’s preconceived ideas of what God will and will not do. Sometimes, people react unpleasantly when you challenge deeply held misconceptions. God does not really care about what other people think, though, and does what He wants anyway. Despite what many denominational Christians act like, God is totally sovereign.
It’s just beginning
Life without rules is frightening to the natural man. Believers derive security from thinking that man-made boundaries protect them. However, being natural minded, even about spiritual things, is enmity with (hostile to) God. In reality, there is only one law: live by whatever proceeds out of the mouth of you Lord.
