How To Hear God’s Voice Confidently And Clearly
First Axiom: God talks to anyone who will listen.
Second Axiom: God will reply any time you speak to Him.
Third Axiom: God has a specific will for your life today.
For today’s spiritual exercise you will need a note pad and something to write with. Also, allow at least 2 hours to complete this exercise.
Exercise goal:
To learn to hear and trust God’s voice
Exercise Method:
Go to a public place such as a park or bus station. Just somewhere that people are sitting around not particularly busy. Bring a lunch if you wish. Sit down, quiet yourself, and pray. Ask God what He wants you to do. Ask God if there is anyone that He would like to speak with today. When God speaks to your mind (He is inside you so where else would He speak from) simply obey what He says. He may tell you to speak to someone close by or He may ask you to start walking and He will direct you by His Spirit where to go. He may simply ask you to pray for someone. Do not judge with your natural mind but simply obey. Do this once per week for at least 2 weeks. Record what happens each time in your note pad.
Note: Do not take a Bible. You are a living book. Simply say or do what God speaks into your mind and heart.
Exercise Benefits:
To gain confidence in knowing how to hear God’s voice. It is wonderful if something happens good, but it is also instructive even if it does not work out. You must allow yourself to make mistakes because that is how we learn.
Note: Do not do anything that will endanger yourself or others. Do not do anything that is illegal. When you are just starting out the most you will probably suffer is embarrassment. These are baby steps meant to help you gain confidence in how to hear God’s voice.
Have fun.
P.S. share your testimonies of what God does for others to read…it will be a great encouragement to everyone!
You know, this is a really good idea. I hope people really pick up on this. It is an aspect of ‘practicalities of Christianity’ where we hear or read, many words spoken of what we should be doing, but rarely get any guidance on HOW to do the things we are preached.
Last night I wrote about:
“The Holy Spirit, which is not restricted by death or time, is the same Spirit which dwelled within the disciples, guided them and spoke to them. The same Spirit dwells within you, guides you, speaks to you. The Spirit of truth helps you with discernment. The Spirit of truth has you walking in revelation as the early church did……
You are not to be blown around on hot and cold air depending on how your mood takes you that day, you are to be blown around by the Holy Spirit’s wind which takes you where God pleases and instructs you where God pleases, irrespective of what is happening in your ‘world’ at the time.”
John 10
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
And
Romans 8
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Looking forward to feedback on this, people’s testimonies of what or where God led them. Awesome.
Dear Kingdomsheirs,
I hopes it helps people too. What I see happening is that people are beginning to draw back from themselves and are allowing God, through His Holy Spirit, to “surface” in them. He has always been there inside them, with the infilling of the Holy Spirit, but we have not known how to step back and let Him step forward. It is an exciting time because you never know what God will do!
Thank you for writing. I think your comments help round out what the essay is saying.
God bless,
Michael
