A living word
Recently, I came to understand, that what the scriptures speak about are not just concepts, but rather, experiences. Each verse in the Bible is not a report of something it is something.
It’s about time
In the spiritual realm time does not exist. Events exist but not in a chronological way. We, on the other hand, are bound by time through our natural minds. However, in our spirits, when we yield God, are not. Before mankind sinned, Adam and Eve tasted immortally. Unfortunately, once they traded revelation for reason that eternal realm, the heavenly places shut to them. Ever since, our understanding has been darkened. Natural minded thinking shut those parts of ourselves, namely our spirits, and we became blind to spiritual things.
Our understanding destroyed us
This is what precipitated the flood. Mankind, barred from Eden and oneness with God, spiraled down into darkness until we became mere brute beasts. Thus violence filled the Earth and every man devoured his brother. What God made very good, the sons and daughters of Eve, made continually evil in His sight. Finally, our heavenly Father had enough and told Noah that the end of all flesh was before him.
God picked a man, Noah, perfect in his generation to save mankind. God spoke to the one man who still listened to His Spirit and did, by faith, what He commanded. Of of all the people in the world before the flood, God only saved one man and those who believed him. Noah’s close family, because they believed the word He spoke, found salvation too. Everybody else, who listened only to their natural reasoning, died in the flood.
Much more than mere words
When I write it is not just thoughts but experiences I write down. My spirit connects with God’s Spirit and I write as if I have been there. The Holy Spirit breathes these words which are filled with experience. These visceral experiences are as potent as the original acts they speak of.
Revelation through experience
Moses was not a stenographer. God did not just dictate the words of the first five books to Him. Moses was there in Eden and wrote what he saw. Moses experienced the tower of Babel and recorded what happened as God confused their language. God’s prophet witnessed Abraham raising his knife to Isaac in obedience to His voice. The words Moses wrote are experiences he actually had.
The past is present, the future is now
Through revelation, the Bible is a portal into the past and future at the same time. God speaks of events that have not yet happened as though they were. Prophets see because they are in the Spirit at those places. Joel saw the great and terrible day of the Lord because he was there. Ezekiel walked in the actual millennial temple because he was there. Jeremiah saw the conquest of Jerusalem by the Babylonian armies. These men of God reported actual events because they saw these events as they happened and we call those experiences prophecy. The reason that prophecy is so profoundly accurate is because it is just a factual report of something that has already taken place. For example, read Matthew chapter 24.
Elisha said,
“And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed: and the man of God wept. And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.”
2 Kings 8:11,12
Prophecy is eye witness reports
The book of Revelation speaks of things that are. It is only a book about the future relative to our frame of reference in time. As far as eternity is concerned this is old news. When God says it is finished it is already finished. These prophecies record actual events that have already, in eternity, taken place.
This is why demons know things about the future. It is because, to them who still have access to the spiritual realm, these things are already present. While you may still be a child in this time, in the realm of the Spirit these evil entities see you in your totally. Satan knows if you will be a great man or woman of God and takes steps to destroy you before you can become what God predestination you to be in the here and now.
Scriptures are experiences
When the scriptures speak of joy it is not just a concept but a experience you can immerse yourself in. When Christ talks about oneness with God and your brethren it is real thing you can feel. When scripture speaks about the unity of the Spirit it is an actual experience of being one with God and with your brethren. As you read about the temple in heaven it exists now and you can go there in the Spirit.
Once We stop going by our natural mind and open ourselves up to revelation, we start to live as God intended. All those areas that have lain dormant in us, through the knowledge of good and evil, come alive again. We begin to reintegrate into one whole person again. As we subsume our minds to the Holy Spirit, heavenly places become our home once again.
God breathed
The word, the logos, is a living thing because it is God breathed. Just as Adam received the breath of life and became a living soul, so too the scriptures is the breath of life to our souls. If we allow God to lead and guide us into all truth, the word comes alive in us and we experiences it as a real, living thing. The scriptures are a spiritual force reconnecting us to our Father in ways we can’t yet imagine.
In conclusion, Jesus said,
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
John 6:63
