A Man Of Sorrows And Acquainted With Grief

A Solitude of Spirit
The day that Joseph died, Jesus wept. Though the son of God knew who He was. His true Father did not permit him to resurrect his earthly father. The agony of that day is only surpassed by the Garden of Gethsemane.
The sorrows of the Spirit

Being perfectly sensitive to the Spirit exposes you also to all the imperfection of man. Knowing how wonderful God is and trusting Him implicitly, when those around you dwell in sin, is a special trial of soul and spirit.
Sometimes, obeying God means doing what goes against your heart. For instance, Jesus had to wait to aid Lazarus, knowing that his friend lay dying.
God says,
“Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.”
John 11:31,32
The desert of this world

Jesus followed the Holy Spirit no matter what anyone else did or said. Regardless of how difficult it was to see others not realize is available to them, Jesus walked with God. Christ submitted his whole life to God for one purpose: to manifest his Father’s glory to the world. In so doing, he died alone, hanging from a cross, in place of each one of us.
In our lives, if we dare to believe God,we also become men and women of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Following God separates us from men and takes on a path that others cannot or will not follow. Ultimately, We hang alone on our own cross doing the will of our Lord.
No longer of this Earth
As the men and women of God regain perfection the things of this life become strangely dim. We begin to take no pleasure in the things of the Earth as we see eternity before us. We sacrifice all we know in order to obtain a better resurrection. People we meet become spirit or they become nothing. We walk on the high places where one slip means certain disaster. Yet, because we follow His Spirit our feet become like hinds feet as we walk with assurance. Our sorrows will become joy, for we know we are bound for a new paradise in Him.
Oh, how I long to live in heavenly places. I cannot wait to be fully united with God and my brethren. Increasingly, this life becomes like fingernails on slate. Let all those who worship God worship Him in Spirit and in truth so that we can leave this place forever.
My prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, open the heavens to us so that we may become one with You. Take the fear and pain from our lives so that we may rest with each other in faith, love and harmony. Help our unbelief so that we can walk with you in the cool of the day once again. Help us rise up on the wings of eagles to soar with You in heavenly places.
Amen.
