Our Origins Are What Makes Us Who We Are Today
God says,
“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.”
Genesis 2:8
It is our origins that make us what we are today. The penchant of men and women the world over to plant grass and tend gardens stems from our beginnings. God said,
“Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.”
Genesis 2:15 (NASB)
The way we started out was just perfect
We adore perfection, because in the beginning, everything was perfect, including ourselves. Therefore we idolize beauty in all its forms. Eve was a vision, Eden a paradise, walking with God a pleasure. God says,
“And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Genesis 1:31
Don’t be angry with God
In the world today, there is so much animosity towards God, it is like everyone thinks He did something wrong. People blame God for practically everything from world hunger to war. Even the weather is God’s fault. Some even make it their religion to have no religion at all calling themselves A-theists. People act like victims of something they had no part in and no control over. However, the truth is that we are merely blaming God for problems we created.
God gave us a paradise
God planted a garden. Our Father/Creator gave us everything and only withheld from us one thing; the knowledge of good and evil. Through Eve, mankind chose to do the one thing God forbade. In so doing, we chose to break fellowship with our Lord and not the other way around.
People cannot imagine being perfect. We all know it is impossible. However, Adam and Eve, being perfect in paradise, could not imagine being imperfect. To them, being anything else than absolute perfection, was simply impossible. Odds were great, had not Lucifer introduced Eve to sin, we would all still be in a Garden of Eden today.
God is good, all the time
Many have heard the saying “God is good, all the time”. In fact, God says,
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
Even after all that we have done against God, even in our sins, God wants us to be saved.
In conclusion, please don’t blame God for everything that happens to you when He is trying His best to save you. No matter what you think of the person lowering a rope, when you are hanging on for dear life, take the lifeline you’re given. Jesus Christ is the only salvation that God could provide due to the constraints of His righteousness. Let Jesus save you and worry about the how’s and why’s after the danger of eternal death has passed.
The Garden of Eden is our home
Based on my own experience, I can tell you that the paradise of God is more wonderful than you can possibly imagine. The Holy Spirit is the missing part of everyone and everything on this planet. Open up your heart and allow Him to come in and be whole once again. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trusting that God gave us a garden and wants us to live in it.
