Spiritual Connection

With Jesus as our head, the Body of Christ “connects” to each other in love.

Paul says,

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

Ephesians 4:15, 16

With Jesus as our head, the Body of Christ “connects” to each other in love. In order for any natural body to function properly, it’s members must respond to its head and work in unity. Likewise, the spiritual Body of Christ must respond in unison to its head, Jesus Christ, and work together also.

Divine Love multiplies

Divine love unifies the Body of Christ. We all know that Jesus commands us to love one another, but are unsure how to do it. The love that Jesus talks about, however, does not originate with you but flows from God above.  We are to love through God’s Spirit, not through our natural man.  Our love is not enough because, when we love through our carnal man, our flesh is weak and we eventually fail. God’s love, on the other hand, never fails. Therefore, in order to love perfectly we must allow our Father to love through us. God’s commandment to love simply means that we yield to His nature: which is love.

God gives us Spiritual Connections through the Body of Christ

God desires to reveal Himself through us to the world.  This is the divine purpose of the manifestation of the sons of God.  In other words, God’s nature flowing through us accomplishes His will.  A spiritual connection is a supernatural union of two people, which God unites through His Spirit, revealing His love and glory. Through the Holy Spirit, two people become, to varying degrees, one in Him.

God draws us by His Spirit to form spiritual unions with other parts of His body.  Loving each other is not something we do, but Someone we yield to.  The Holy Spirit connects you with the Holy Spirit in them. Your spirits intermingle until, in a very real sense, you are one. Becoming one spirit is the result of experiencing God’s Divine Love.   Spiritual connections enable you to love purely and completely as Adam and Eve loved one another in paradise.  Divine love is the expression of agape love.

Falling in love with God in one another

The nearest experience on earth which can be compared to a spiritual connection is “limerence.”  Google defines limerence as,

“the state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person, typically experienced involuntarily and characterized by a strong desire for reciprocation of one’s feelings but not primarily for a sexual relationship.”

People often describe limerence as, “falling hard” or “lovesick” or having a “crush” on another person.  a Spiritual connection is all of that and much, much more.

When you connect with another person you love them without concern for yourself.  It is writen,

“Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;”

1 Corinthians 13:5

God’s love flows between us supplying whatever the other person needs. Only when they are satisfied are we at peace.

Connection love releases the spiritual gifts throughout the Body of Christ. Connected through God’s love we are truly free.  Spiritual gifts, which may lay dormant, begin to function and manifest in us. Supernaturally, by word of knowledge, even if someone is not present with their connection, they sense if they’re sad or hurting. Physical location is irrelevant for you are united in the realms of the Spirit. Moreover, each person implicitly trusts the other as if familiar from birth. Everyone loves each other unconditionally as God loves them and thus, a spiritual connection fulfills 1 Corinthians chapter 13.

The first love of Eden restored

Spiritual connections restore the first love of Eden. God intended His children to be Spirit-led from the very beginning. Originally, in the Garden, God desired to unite people through His Spirit. Adam realized he was incomplete.  God’s son felt the need to connect with someone like himself. Therefore, God formed Eve to meet Adam’s most intimate desires. From the very beginning, God spiritually connected His sons and daughters. This is how God wants His people to form spiritual unions to this very day.

Spiritual connection is what was lost in Eden and this is what God wants to restore to His children today.  All interpersonal relationships, from friendship to marriage, were meant to be authored and blessed by Him.  When God unites people through spiritual unions they return to their pre-fallen state of innocence.

As we come back into right relationship with our Father, we naturally begin to function as He intended.  The Tabernacle experience, with its spiritual connections, is the finishing work that matures the Body of Christ in our generation.  It is written,

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”

Ephesians 4:12,13

Spiritual connection and the perfection of the saints

Spiritual Connections produce the perfection of the saints. Divine love draws the Body of Christ together in Him. God joins us through His will and this brings about spiritual unity. As the Holy Spirit is one we are one: Hence the unity of the spirit. Our heavenly Father is of one mind therefore we are of one mind: hence the unity of the faith.  The unity of the Spirit and the unity of the faith take place as a result of the spiritual experience of Tabernacles which is spiritual connections.

In conclusion, on the sixth day, God said it was very good.  We are currently in the sixth day. As we go back to the Garden we regain that goodness in Him. Lastly, here is a truth,

“The perfection of the saints is only possible because of spiritual unions.”
