God Dwells in us

Where is God?  That is the basic question we all ask, isn’t it.  People take all types of paths to try to answer this query, but relatively few find their way.  Christians, know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, however, many still struggle to feel His presence.

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, God dwells in you.  That same Spirit, that raised Christ from the dead, resurrects you in that last day as He shouts your name.  If you are really fortunate, you may even experience the catching away of the saints before the great tribulation.

Body, soul, and spirit

We possess a soul (which is who we are) plus a body and a spirit.  We use our bodies to interface with this creation.  Similarly, to the extent we allow, we use our spirits to interact with the heavenly realm.  Just like we have five senses in the natural world, we also have five senses in the spiritual world.  Some people have eyes to see and ears to hear physically, but are essentially blind and deaf in the spirit.  When scripture talks about having “their eyes opened”, it’s talking about our spiritual eyes being opened.

Open our spiritual eyes

God says,

And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?  And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.   And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay.  Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.”

Numbers 22:28-31

And,

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.  And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”

2 Kings 6:16,17

It’s all about bellies

Though our souls are located in our heads, our spirits reside near our reproductive organs.  Essentially, they’re folded into our bellies and only come out occasionally.  We can tell when our spirits are up, because of the light in our eyes.  This not an earthly light, but a spiritual glow about us.  Women usually radiate this type of glow when they are pregnant or in love.  You can see people’s spirits up and out when they worship God.  Some ministers, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, exhibit their spirits during preaching or teaching.  Most of the time, people experience this type of unfolding during love-making. This is why people. saved and unsaved, praise God during climax. I understand this truth offends some Christians, but nevertheless, it is the truth.

The reason that unfolding our spirits is important, is we can only walk in the Spirit through our spirits.  Access to the heavenlies is only possible through using our spirits to interface with that realm.  Just as you can’t see without physical eyes, you can’t see in the Spirit without using your spiritual eyes.  Many Christians don’t understand this truth and so their spirits are only active during the night or by accident.

Unfolding our spirits

The reality is, though, we can consciously allow our Spirits to unfold and become active.  Allowing God’s Spirit to fill us, we blossom, being restored to His image and likeness.

In the presence of our Lord, our spirits naturally react by unfolding and emerge from our bellies.  You can tell a person’s spirit is up by the look in their eyes.  God literally begins revealing Himself through their eyes and their countenance changes.  This is like, to a very small degree, what happened to Jesus on the mount of transfiguration.  As we allow our spirits to take over our body, God reveals Himself through us and we become transfigured.

About this time, some may think, “wow, that sound very mystical“.  In reality, it is not mystical at all, just the way things are in the Spirit.  The only problem is, we are unaccustomed to using our spirits to interact with the heavenlies, so it feels strange.  However, to anyone who interacts with that realm very much, it is quite normal.

Release your spirits to each other

Fear essentially keeps our spirits from unfolding.  We fear showing our true selves to others, because our spirits are very sensitive.  When people wound us spiritually, it cuts extremely deep.  To manifest our spirit, we have to trust.  This is why our spirits tend to manifest during worship or intimacy.  Both these activities flow from extreme vulnerability to God and each other.  At other times, our spirits tend to come out when we least expect it.  Sometimes our true selves manifest during acts of compassion at tragic moments.  At other times we feel at ease with our children. Many times our spirits emerge when we are being “child-like”.

Dreams, during the night and sometimes during the day, are closely associated with our spirits.  These visions happen as our spirits unfold into the heavenly realm.  Unfortunately, not all engagements are positive and thus we sometimes have nightmares.  Though not every dream is from the spiritual realm, the really vivid ones are, both positive and negative.  If a night vision leaves a lasting impression,  you’ve been touched by the spirit. The reason this happens at night is because our natural, conscious minds are not suppressing our spirit when we sleep.

What God made is very good, no matter what the devil does with it

The Devil does his best to degrade what God creates very good.  Christians fear most things in the Spirit because Satan perverts them, claiming them as his own.  Witches exude sensuality as they cast their spells, therefore we fear anything overly intimate during church services.  Churches feel the way to “properly” worship God is with eyes shut and hands in the air.  However, we must go beyond “guilt by demonic association” which keeps us away from our spiritual birth right.

The actual way we should be unfolding our spirits is through God’s Divine Love.  True worship looks more like a mid-summers night dance of flower children, than standing statue like, eyes skyward.  It is not as though our standard way of worshiping is bad, it’s just incomplete and limited.  Actually, Spirit led dancing is a great way to encourage our spirits to unfold and come up.  Praising God with our whole body allows God to inhabit us.

Dare to be vulnerable

The act of writing these blogs is, in fact, an unfolding of my spirit to you.  As I write, God flows through me.  I can only do this because I decide to be vulnerable.  I literally write what I hear in the Spirit, removing my natural mind from the equation.  As I write, my reason often times tries to influence me, but my spirit corrects me.

Thus, the inspiration for these essays is from the Holy Spirit.  To the degree I yield myself to what God says, it is the word of our Lord.  I do not claim inerrancy, for we all know in part and prophesy in part.  However, if you listen with your spirit, you will connect with those things that are of Him.

All things in the spiritual realm work this way. People must become vulnerable in order for the Spirit of God to flow. Christians don’t unfold their spirits when they are guarded, reclusive, and protected.  Protecting your spirit makes it is very difficult to connect with God or each other.

To call the Bride, be the Bride

Spiritually minded believers lead by example.  To call the Bride, be the Bride.  We become the message we speak, else, what we say doesn’t ring true.  I don’t even try to speak to the natural man anymore, because I realize it’s pointless.  I speak directly to your spirits nowadays, because I know deep calls to deep.  God’s sheep hear His voice.

Finally, God calls the Bride.   In all the world, where so many things distract, this is the place where we find rest.  As we love God and allow Him to love us through one another, peace reigns in our hearts.  The things of this life really do grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
