A Modern Day Judge, God Sends Trump To Deliver America’s People From Their Affliction.
In the Old Testament there were periods when the nation of Israel drifted away from following God. During these times enemies oppressed God’s people and they would cry out for deliverance. At those times, God would raise up a “Judge” or a “deliver” who would fight Israel’s enemies and WIN.
There were twelve Judges who saved Israel and their names are:
Judges killed those who attacked God’s people, they stood their ground against invaders, risked impossible battles against superior odds, sometimes said rash things, and above all were men of action and courage.
I believe that Donald Trump, in all his magnificent imperfection, is just such a judge, in the best Old Testament tradition, sent to deliver America from those who wish to enslave us.
“now may it be that the girl to whom I say, ‘Please let down your jar so that I may drink,’ and who answers, ‘Drink, and I will water your camels also’—may she be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by this I will know that You have shown lovingkindness to my master.”
Genesis 24:14 (NASB)
Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for his son Isaac. Upon coming to Abraham’s ancestral home, Eliezer asked God to give him a sign to show whom he should choose as Isaac’s bride. The test he chose was that the girl he asked for a drink of water would also volunteer to draw water for his camels. Being that a thirsty camel can drink up to 30 gallons of water, and that Eliezer had ten camels, that was a lot of water! However, Rachel, when asked to give a total stranger drink, did so willingly and also watered all Eliezer ‘s camels too.
Doing more than God’s asks
Sometimes what God asks us to do may seem like a lot of busy work and not very important. Yet the truth is God examines us to see what kind of heart and character we possess. Rachel did not have to go the extra mile and water all Eliezer’s camels, but she did, and that made all the difference.
What I have noticed, over and over, is that people’s blessings are often right in front of them. Opportunity sometimes comes in seemingly small ways that, to that natural man, appear to be nothing special. However, God is watching. Often, the only thing that separates us from receiving or missing our blessings are simple acts of faith.
A little more effort can go a long way
Like Rachel, it takes some effort to do what God asks, but the rewards of complying with His request through Eliezer, and even doing more than asked, can be phenomenal. Carrying Eliezer’s water changed Rachel’s life forever. That day she secured a place in history as the future mother of Jacob (who would later become Israel) in whom all the nations of the earth would be blessed.
In conclusion, are you going to carry the greater Eliezer’s water? When Christ asks you for something small will you say yes and even volunteer to do more than He requests? Are you going to demonstrate the heart of a willing servant and impress your Lord? The choice is yours and destiny awaits your answer.
