Do You Have A Head Full Of Knowledge?

There is a common fallacy in the Christian church that you must “teach” people into all truth.  Other than giving an altar call and prayer, teaching seems to be the primary purpose of many services.  Instructing people into the Kingdom of God (as if more knowledge of good is going to make a difference) seems to be the order of the day.  However, I believe that true revelation from God speaks for itself and we need not address or even convince the natural minded man or woman of its veracity.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is still a bad idea

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is what got us into trouble in the first place, so why keep going back to it in order to learn how to obey God?   Doing that then did not help us at all, so why do we believe it is necessary or beneficial now?

Breaking old habits is difficult.  I was brought up in a Bible College where everything was teaching.  Morning, noon, and night we learned about God, being “taught” the way of righteousness.  Yet, for all our knowledge, we could not seem to live even a fraction of it.  What ended up happening is that we knew so much and kept so little of it, we always walked in condemnation.

Spiritual truth must be a revelation

Do I really need to teach people into the truth?  Or do I simply need to present the truth of the Spirit to your spirits and trust that God will bear witness to it?  Is it even necessary to speak to your natural minds so that they will understand the spiritual things of God?  I am beginning to think not.  Convincing you of revelation will not necessarily cause you to live it.  I ask you,

“Why teach the natural man at all?”

More and more I come to understand that I don’t have to concern myself with whether what I write seems reasonable.  In fact, I don’t think spiritual things ever seem reasonable to the natural man, because the natural man cannot understand the things of God.  Paul says,

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

1 Corinthians 2:14

What I can do is speak to your spirits and trust God to bear witness His word.  Why feed that which is passing away?  Why not feed that which is eternal and will survive this earth?

God calls us to live by revelation

The truth is we are coming into a time of living by revelation.  We are returning to the Garden.  The Tabernacle Experience is a restoration of our pre-fallen state. We simply live by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.  Our Father is asking us not to go by what seems right to our natural minds, but simply to live by what He says to us every minute of every day.  Therefore, I don’t have to concern myself with explaining anything God says, because men and women of the Spirit will get it simply through revelation.

God’s truth needs no help.  Nothing I can do will add anymore weight to what our Father says.  I don’t have to explain eternal truth to natural minded people in order to save their souls.  The very cross itself is foolishness to the natural man.  God simply is and whether people accept or reject His word rests upon them and not me.  Those who have ears to hear what God is saying to this generation will accept His truth without fail.  To those who do not have ears to hear, practically nothing will ever convince them.

God simply is, He needs no justification

God needs no justification.  We must stop thinking that we have to convince others of the veracity of what our Lord says.  Simply make sure what you say is the current word of God and leave it at that.  Allow God to speak to people’s spirits and do not even concern yourself with trying to convince their natural minds.  After all, no one is going to make heaven their home because it made sense.

In conclusion, we need to step out of Peter’s shadow and trust that God can and will give us revelation for our day and age.  We do not have to find two or three scriptures to bear witness of what the Holy Spirit says today, we should just be sure the Holy Spirit is saying it.   I desire to hear God for today and do what He wants because He speaks to me right now.  The apostles got to live by revelation in their generation and I want to have that same freedom to hear what God is saying to my generation.
