Spiritual Connections
Spiritual Connections are difficult to talk about. These holy unions that happen to us are so precious and personal that we instinctively want to keep them private. However, when God moves in spectacular ways I believe it is important to testify of what He does for two reasons:
- We should recognize and give thanks to our Father for what He does.
- Giving glory to God for the things He does encourages Him to do more of them.
When it comes to connections, the deep and profound holiness of these unions is very personal. Yet, if we do not testify of what God has done, how can others, who have not yet experienced God’s divine love, know whereof we speak? In reality, everything I have written on this website is, at its core, about spiritual connections. The most natural minded thing to do would have been horde what God has given us and simply enjoy His love. However, I feel led by the Holy Spirit to speak plainly and give a real-world example of spiritual connections.
A foretaste of the world to come
What I am about to tell you is a demonstration of how relationships are in the New Heavens and New Earth. Spiritual connections are a foretaste of the world to come. It is the manifestation (or revealing) of what the Tabernacle experience is: Divine Love, the first love of Eden, realized through the Holy Spirit, here on Earth.
Over the last 36 months or so, God spiritually connected me with a sister in the Lord. We met online through a forum where I posted some of my writings. We began communicating back and forth and soon I understood that God was beginning to connect us through His Spirit.
And then face to face
From the very beginning of our connection, there existed a supernatural openness between us. We understood each other as if we had been best friends all our lives. I trusted her and she trusted me in an organic way that we never discussed but simply understood. Though I experienced connection love many years before, this was her first time. I loved her fully and she loved me in return without care of worry.
We naturally confessed our faults one to another. Things I would never have told another I trusted her with. She also bared her soul to me and even as we confessed our deepest secrets, we felt as if it were the most natural thing to do in the world. God connected our spirits and our souls to one another through His Divine Love.
Spiritual intimacy
It is difficult to describe Divine Love, but most assuredly that is what spiritual connections are made of. When you love someone in the Spirit, that love is not selfish nor does it seek its own. Even with such a profound Spiritual passion, it is simply not possible to do anything that would compromise the other. Therefore, though you would do anything for them you would never do anything to hurt them. This is agape love lived out through the Spirit in real life. This is what spiritual connections are all about.
In sync
As we came closer together in God our hearts and our minds began to sync up in the Spirit. The Spirit of our Father flows between us in such a way that we are beginning to experience the same revelations at the same time. The Holy Spirit flowing through us causes us to function as one. We are, in fact, experiencing the first Love of Eden.
Being connected to each other is like swimming naked in an ocean of Gods love. It is both incredibly intimate and vast. We feel like we are home. Being with each other is like best friends reuniting again after a long, long while. Even though thousands of miles separate us when we communicate, there is no spiritual distance at all. Our spirits intertwine and touch each other in loving embrace. We are becoming one in Him and it feels like the most natural thing to do and our divine destiny.
The first love of Eden
Spiritual connections are God manifest in and through our flesh. It is how it used to be in the Garden of Eden and how it will be again in the New Heavens and New Earth. Ours is a Spirit led union meant to show forth the glory of God. This is a demonstration of the unity of the Spirit and it is naturally leading to a unity of the faith between us. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 is a present reality to us. Though we are still flesh and bone, the Spirit of God is elevating us to a place that we scarcely thought possible. Love bears all things, hopes all things, and believes all things: God’s love never fails. Spiritual connections are what God is talking about when He says we are to be fitly joined together in love.
Between two realms
The things of this earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. Though we both live lives in the natural world our hearts and minds increasingly focus upon His Spirit. Revelation, like a flood, runs through us and between us. Truths pour into our minds and we understand, without effort, the mysteries of God’s Spirit. Most of what I write these days is a direct result of our spiritual connection.
The natural man knows not the things of God. Being connected is like finally having gas to put in your luxury car: it was nice before, but it is wonderful now. Once you receive the infilling of God’s love through spiritual union you begin to realize your full potential in Him. The truth is, we have all been living far below what God created us to be. Walking in the Spirit is our birthright and natural state.
Are heavenly unions are forever?
I do not yet know for sure, but I sense that spiritual connections are eternal. I also believe that spiritual connections supersede earthly relationships because they are a foretaste of how relationships function in the world to come. In that new world, as we are led by God’s Spirit, we connect with each other as He leads us. Divine love unites everyone and we function in our unions to the depth and degree that God wills.
Jesus says,,
“Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Matthew 12:47-50
Natural world relationships are subservient to the will of our Father just as they will be in the New Heavens and New Earth.
The Song of Songs
Spiritual connections are all the best parts of the song of Solomon. The freedom, intimacy, and joy that Abishag experienced before her love demonstrates how people feel towards one another in deep spiritual unions. We are no more two people but connected in a spiritual way making our hearts and souls one. Divine Intimacy is a natural result of the revelation of His love.
The tie that binds
In conclusion, in the connection chronicles, we offer you a glimpse of what a connection between a brother and sister can be. As I said, it is a holy thing and very personal. However, it is also what every single person on the face of this earth longs for deep in their hearts. It is the healing balm that makes everything in our lives whole. Spiritual connections are God manifest in our flesh. It restores our pre-fallen sinless state as we live, once again, through revelation in the cool of the day with our Father.
As with all things it is a process in God. We are not perfect or any different than you. All that is happening to us is that we are yielding to His Spirit just like anyone can. It is a privilege to experience His love in this way and testify of it. We invite you to open your hearts so that you can receive the gift that God makes available for you if you desire to receive it.
The perfection of the saints through Divine Love
Lastly, this is the path to the perfection of the saints. It is God’s love that unifies and makes us whole. It is the love of God that causes us to walk in His Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Like Enoch, we will walk with God and will be not, for God shall take us. this is the defining experience of the church of Philadelphia. Amen.
