Build Thee An Ark

ark

God says,

“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.”

Genesis 6:13-14,

Noah, Build thee an Ark

There was a day, much like any other day, when the sun rose in the east, chasing away the shadows of the night. Noah, a man found to be perfect in his generation, woke much as He’d done every morning for the last five hundred years. Today, however, was different for God spoke to Noah and commanded Him to build thee an Ark.

There are two parts to building an Ark. First, you must hear God and receive His instructions. Secondly, you must believe God and actually do what He says.

Hearing God’s voice

When God spoke to Noah it probably took a few minutes or a few hours, but certainly not more than a day. In a relatively short time, God revealed His plan to save mankind from the destruction that would surely come. The Creator of the heavens and earth, instructed Noah on how to fashion the instrument of our salvation. While surprising and perhaps even terrifying to hear God say “the end of all flesh has come before me” nothing, in the natural realm, really changed that day.

Building the Ark

The second part of building an Ark, or doing anything else in God for that matter, is to actually do what God says. This is often times a lot harder to accomplish than hearing His voice. The Bible states that Noah was five hundred years old at the time God spoke, and was six hundred years old when he entered the finished ark. Therefore, for one hundred years Noah obeyed Gods voice and built the ark according to the vision God gave him.

There comes a time when, after hearing the voice of God, we must also do the voice of God. We cannot neglect to act out our faith. If we fail to do so, not only we but many others around us, may suffer the consequences of our unbelief. What God required of Noah was to put action to His revelation he was given and in doing so, saved the human race.

One hundred years of faith

Moreover, God did not speak to Noah again until he finished building the ark one hundred years later. Once God gives you a command, He may not speak to you again until you have obeyed it. However long it takes you to actually carry out His will, in any given area, may determine when you will hear His voice again. Some people say that they never hear God, but many times that is not entirely true. In the past they have heard God very clearly, but have failed to obey Him and so He has not spoken to then since. Here is a truth,

“Why would God command a second thing if you don’t obey the first thing He says?”

If you have not heard the voice of God in a long time, search your heart and ask yourself if God did speak a word that you have failed to carry out. If that is so, simply doing what God originally said may cause Him to speak again when you have finished your assigned task.

During the building of the ark there was a time where mankind could have repented. Noah was called a ‘Preacher of Righteousness’ and his message was the Ark. I ask you, each one of you that reads these words, is there an ark in your life testifying of things to come? Are you realizing what it means and are you hearing the message that God is speaking from His prophets? or are you eating, drinking, and carrying on with your life as though nothing will ever change?

Those who hear and those who jeer

There comes a day when God says to close up the ark  whether or not others believe. For seven days the ark was shut, for seven days Noah and his family were mocked by those who felt a twinge of fear when the door closed. Though those outside the ark did not know it, the fate of the world sealed.

Brethren, the day fast approaches when God will shut the door to this generation.  At that time, our Lord makes a division made between those who hear and those who jeer. Which side of the door will you be on when it shuts?  Will you have obeyed Gods voice or waste your life without regard for the times and seasons?

Time to hear God’s voice

There is still time while the Ark is being built to hear God’s voice. Pick up your tools and help. No matter how evil this world becomes, be ‘Preachers of Righteousness‘, not in word only, but also in deeds. What we do is sometimes a more powerful than what we speak.  Ultimately, a lot depends upon our simple obedience.  Let us hear God and do the will of our Father, not only for ourselves, but ultimately the whole world.

Where Do You Draw The Line?

A typical message asking passengers to stand b...

So Many, Many Lines

It is almost universal in Christianity that people talk about lines.  Lines are a metaphor for boundaries.  Christians have lines about almost every topic in life and these lines are based upon how they interpret scripture.  It might be said that many believers define themselves by their lines.

Lines are a modern day name for “traditions of men” which the Pharisees taught.  Their traditions were meant make sure that no one even came close to violating the law and the prophets.  However, in the end, their lines did not help them very much because they demanded that their Messiah be crucified.

Do not try to bend the spoon

If you have ever watched the movie entitled “The Matrix”, you may remember a particular scene where a young boy tells the hero (Neo) “Do not try and bend the spoon. That’s impossible. Instead… only try to realize the truth. …There is no spoon.”  The amazing truth, the answer to the question of “where do you draw the line?” is that “there is no line” in the classical biblical sense.  Here is a truth,

“The only line that matters is the line that the Holy Spirit draws for the individual at the time that the individual needs it. “

For instance, you do not need to have chapter and verse for everything that happens? If you feel in your spirit that God is doing something good within the people that are doing strange things, simply accept it.  If you can see the fingerprints of your Father on strange manifestations then praise God for it.  Do you believe that the “greater works” than Jesus did are going to have chapter and verse?  How could they possibly be greater?  Will these greater works just be more of the same or will they be something brand new and wonderful? Though these greater works do not go against scripture, we don’t find chapter and verse for all of them.

Get comfortable with uncertainty

Walking by faith is uncertainty.  We cannot define a faith walk down to a set of rules that apply uniformly to every situation we encounter.   We cannot know from day to day how God will lead us to deal with the variables we encounter.  All we know for certain is that we must trust the voice of our Father.  People cry “we have the word of God!”  Actually, that is an illusion.

While we do have the perfect oracles of God, we only live by the doctrines of man.  We live by differing approximations of the truth.  The problem is we so firmly believe our doctrine, we cling to it rather than accepting Him.  It is called legalism and dogma and it is an idol. You either worship it or you leave the church.

The next BIG thing

Tabernacles is the next and perhaps even the final big truth that will be revealed in this church age.  It’s an even a bigger shift then occurred when Pentecost was reintroduced to the church in 1901.  Therefore, though it is here already, most people cannot see it or even wrap their minds around it.  The first century church experienced the spiritual fulfillment of all three feasts…they were Tabernacle Christians.

This is why some of the stuff the apostles wrote does not make sense to us. Many of us have only entered into, at most, the spiritual fulfillment of two feasts.  Many Baptists cannot grasp speaking in other tongues, so too many Spirit filled people have a difficult time grasping Tabernacles.  All the scriptures are there, but they lack the experience to bring them into focus.

Wow, have I got something to show you!

The first step in bringing people into the Tabernacle experience is to let them know it is available to them.  It is a good gift that our Father wishes to give to us and is available to all who ask. Share the revelation of Tabernacles so that others can begin to wrap their minds and hearts around it.  Almost every place that the apostles spoke about love, they were talking about Tabernacles, which is Divine Love.  This makes sense because, in ourselves we cannot rise to the level of love that they spoke about. The reason we can’t love in this way is that it is an experience that is given from God above. You can’t live it without having received it.

There are no lines, except what the Holy Spirit draws at the time He draws them

In conclusion, lines are simply another form of legalism.  When Christians are young lines are good like training wheels are helpful as children learn to ride a bike.  However,  a child’s goal is to be able to ride the bike without assistance. Likewise, our goal is to walk in the Spirit so as not to need the training-lines anymore.  How will we do that?  Lines will no longer be needed because, through the finishing work of the Tabernacles experience, God Himself will tell us where and when to draw the line in every situation we encounter.
