God Has Not Given Us A Spirit Of Fear

In talking with various people I have noticed that the Devil battles us with a lot of fear when it comes to sharing what Jesus says and does.  I battle with this myself, my natural mind always seems to try to figure out how people will react to things I share online. Interestingly enough, what my reason comes up with is most always negative rather than positive.  If the Tree of the Knowledge of Good And Evil had its way, I would put everything God does under a bushel basket.

Don’t fear what might happen, fear what God says to you today

Some object to what I write saying, “Well, if that is true then people could do all sorts of things!”   To which I say, “Everything I say is predicated upon listening to and obeying the Holy Spirit.”  Frankly, I purposely do not put down a lot of guidelines and boundaries because to do so would be to inject my fear of what “might” happen into what God says.  I do not wish to taint what God writes with my natural minded fear for I believe that my Father is big enough to lead His people.

When people gasp and accuse me of saying things I don’t mean or say, it makes no real difference to me.  When people, in their natural minds, say that what I write leads to sin it makes me think that, in their hearts, having that much freedom would lead them to sin.  Of course they always couch it in terms of the sin that other people might do, but I think  in their minds they fear what they may do.

Here is a truth,

“When you walk in the Spirit, there is no line or law except what which the Holy Spirit gives you at the time you need it.”

Paul said,

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

Galatians 5:16

And,

“Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.”

Titus 1:5

Be no more babes in Christ

When I talk about spiritual things like traveling in the heavenlies or spiritual intimacy with those God connects you to, I assume spiritual maturity. If you are still on the milk of the word then you should not eat strong meat.  Also, I expect Christians who aspire to such things to be able to consume and process such things. Maturity in Christ has to happen sometime. If we do not grow up in Christ we will not be able to stand in the coming darkness.

Don’t call fear wisdom

I spoke with a pastor and his wife the other day.  They asked me into their office and sat me down. The pastor said they had “heard” certain things about what I believed and wanted to hear it from me.  I told the ministers what I though about certain subjects. After that they said, “Well, we are fine with your beliefs, but don’t mention this to the congregation.”

Isn’t it a telling that even when you agree with truth, you still fear to tell your congregation? If people are really Christians will not they accept Christ?  I have never forgotten that conversation because it showed me the fear that pastors walk in. Of course pastors who say such things call it “wisdom,” but I don’t buy it.  If people cannot hear the word, then you and they are not living for Him.

God has not given us a spirit of fear

God has not given us a spirit of fear but rather but a Spirit of power, love, and sound mind.  Stop protecting out of fear.  Start doing out of love.  Do not look at the lie.  Begin to look at the God whom spoke the world into existence.  I am sick and tired of erring on the side of “safety”.  Our safety ends up frustrating the will of God.

Jesus did not promise safety in this world.  In fact, Jesus foretold of tribulation.  Christ said, “If they have hate me they will hate you”. Don’t tell me that “not” doing the will of God is “wisdom”.   Compromise defeats what the Holy Spirit wants to do. Stand with God, be counted with Him, and face your fears.  God gives us a sound mind to deal with the lies of the Devil.

You must give an account before God

In conclusion, I will not embellish on what God speaks because others fear.  It is time for people to walk before God and learn to obey the Holy Spirit for themselves.  I do not want to control you, I want to literate you to be with your heavenly bridegroom. There is only one law and it is,

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
