Why Male and Female?
God says,
And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them”
Genesis 1:25-27
What I am about to say is revelation. I did not receive it from anyone, it is simply what God is currently speaking to me. I invite you, as a child of the Most High, to consider what I say and hold fast that which is good. Amen.
Originally, God said let us make man in our image and in our likeness. The “us” here refers to the seven spirits of God, which are his seraphim. These are the angels that stand before the throne of God in the book of Revelation.
We are created after God’s kind
Essentially, what God proposed to do was to make mankind after His kind. Making plants and animals after their own kind is a central theme of the first chapters of Genesis. This theme causes us to know that we, the children of God, are created after His kind. Therefore, the kind that God is speaking about is Himself and His Seraphim. Ergo, Seraphim are His kind. Thus, since we are not God, we are, taken together as a species, a Seraph.
Moreover, man was created male and female. The truth is,
The union of a man and a woman (or women as is the case with some patriarchs) is “a man”.
Adam says,
“…This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:23,24
We tend to think of a man and his mate as two separate people. They, after all, have two separate bodies. However, this is not how YHWH sees us. When we come together as Divine Mates, we are no more two, but one in Him. Together, we become one being called “man”.
We, taken together, comprise a “man”
This is the central misunderstanding of many people who see male and female as almost two different genus. In the world, there is the concept that men and women are not that different, or at war, or don’t need each other at all. However, nothing could be further from the truth.
In order to fulfill the reason that God made us, which is to show forth His image and likeness, we must unite and become one flesh. We must become joined together, by His Spirit, in such a way that we are no more twain, but one person. Only in this way can the glory of God truly be seen in us and through us.
Paul said,
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.”
Ephesians 5:22-24
and,
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
1 Corinthians 12:27
Men and women are not separate beings, but one new man
The reason submission of women is so important, is due to the fact that a woman becomes part of the man when they mate. Therefore, if the body does not obey the head, neither one can function properly.
Having laid this groundwork, let me share the revelation that God is showing me about the union of male and female.
The revelation is that without becoming one with a Divine Mate of God’s choice, we cannot reach our full potential in Him. We were made to unite in body, soul, and spirit and become a new man in Christ, not just spiritually, but bodily also. The unity brought about in love was to be the picture of God and His wife that He desired to show forth in this creation. As it is between Him and His Seraphim in heaven, so too it is to be between male and female on this earth.
Made after God’s kind
Therefore, anything that breaks that image, mars the will of our Lord in our lives. When we disrespect God’s will and intent by refusing to become what He desires, we sin. When men mistreat women they offend the Most High, and when women despise men, they despise God Himself.
We are destined, if we will submit to God’s will, to become like Jesus Christ. As that same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us, we show forth the glory of God also. The only difference is that, whereas all the fullness of the Godhead indwelt him bodily, we are given the Holy Spirit by measure. Each one of us shows forth the portion of God that we have been given, if we will yield our lives to Him and submit to His will.

Who we mate with is not our choice, but a collaboration between us and our Father. Just as God brought Eve to His first born son, Adam, so too God wishes to bring our mates to our side also. Since we become one with the person we lay with, we must allow God to lead and guide us into this union. For taken together, our fundamental union is the union of two people who become one flesh in God Himself.
Who we have sex with is first and foremost to be led by the Holy Spirit. Our desire before God should be to give ourselves to the man or woman of His choice, trusting that He knows best. When we act selfishly in this area, we often do irreparable harm to God’s plan in our lives.
In conclusion, our highest calling is to become one with God’s choice and together become one flesh, called “man” in Him. As we become united we are then a suitable helpmate to become one with our Creator. We are the Bride of Christ. Amen.
