Apocalypse Now: The Judgement Of Heaven And Earth

Apocalypse

Only Lucifer Loves The Smell Of Napalm In The Morning

There is an apocalypse coming in heaven and Earth.  YHWH’s judges the heavenly host and we are caught in the middle of it.  God, in His mercy, delayed the consequences of sin until Christ. For approximately 7000 years, our Father bound up His wrath in seven seals on the book of life. However, that judgement is at hand.

What many people do not understand is that the scroll Jesus takes out of the hand of Almighty God, is the book of life.  This little book, written within and without, is filled with the names of those God foreordains to save.  The majority of the Book of Revelation deals with the opening of this little book and the consequence thereof.

God says,

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Revelation 20:15

Only Jesus is worthy to read the book of life

Jesus, alone from all the people who ever lived, is worthy to loose the seven seals and open the book life. In fact, when Christ descends with a shout, it is that list of names we hear. Our name spoken by Christ, just like Lazarus, and we raise from the dead.

The Apocalypse: judgement in heaven as it is in earth

What is revealing to me, is that the judgement of the seven seals is not only just about the Earth, but also about the Heavens. In fact, the judgement on earth reflects the final judgement of the heavenly host.  God not only visits His wrath on the ungodly of this world, but also renders His judgement on Lucifer and those who joined her rebellion.  In the end, God casts the wicked in heaven and  earth into the Lake of Fire for ever.

God speaks, throughout scriptures, about the rebellion in the sides of the north and the judgement of those rebels.  In fact, every time people go against God’s will it echos what is or will take place in heaven.  Mostly, Israel’s apostasy depicts the great falling away that happened in the original Jerusalem of Eden.

God says,

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.  And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Job 6:6-7

Paul states,

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12

Two great battles in heaven and earth

Moreover, there are two great battles that take place.  Lucifer’s first battle, the original rebellion, raged on the sides of the north in the city of our Great King.  This took place sometime before God created Eve from Adam.  This war was vast and destructive, causing much harm the congregation. Lead by the archangels Michael and Gabriel, God’s armies eventually prevailed, but at great cost.  The second battle, which is yet to come, is the final judgement of the Heavens and Earth.

The seventh from Adam says,

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,  To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

Jude 1:14-15

John says,

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Revelation 19:11,12

The Apocalypse is much more than an earthly conflict

We are at war and the battle ground is both in the heavens and on earth.  Most people only see the horrendous consequences of this conflict, yet do not know the causes if it.  Literally everything that we experience here on earth reflects to some degree what has happened, is happening, or will happen in heaven.  The very destruction in this earth, which some call “scenic beauty”, testifies of the first great battle in heaven.  Moreover, God annihilates this cosmos in the last great battle of Gog and Magog.  This battle is the final judgement of Luci and those who joined in her the great rebellion.

Wake from the spirit of slumber

The whole world lies in the lap of the wicked one, because they are asleep.  Strong Delusion clouds our natural minds so we don’t recognize the times we live in.  I am just beginning to realize the magnitude of the original war in heaven.  This conflict laid waste to realms we do not even know existed, nor could understand.  The second and final conflict is the literal judgement, not just of all flesh, but of the heavenly host too.

Finally, Paul says,

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?  Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?”

1 Corinthians 6:2-4

In the Film “Apocalypse Now”, we see war in all its tragic horror.  However, this battle scene connects with us, because it echos a conflict before time began

Waiting On God: A Time Of Trust, Faith And Resting Him

waiting

Preparation, Trust, And Resting In Faith

Patience has never been one of my virtues. I hate delay and want to do everything right now. However, many times God asks us to wait upon Him and patiently trust Him. Why does God require this of us? If God is all-powerful why not just do whatever needs doing right away?

Many times, waiting on God is His will.

God says,

“Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook. And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.”

Waiting on God prepares us for what is to come

There is always a season of preparation before God moves in significant ways. Many people quiet themselves, being with Him in order to hear His voice clearly. When the time comes to move in Him, everything is ready, so without hesitation. In addition to this, events and circumstances need to be right. In Elijah’s case, the effects of the drought had to be felt in such a way that the people were ready to listen. Waiting on God allowed Elijah to prepare for what was to come.

Building trust God while waiting

Waiting on God builds trust. Many times when there are troubles, God asks us to wait when we think we should act. Our natural minds take stock of the events around us and want to “do something” right away, to alleviate the perceived problem. However, God in His wisdom and foreknowledge, sees the problem for what it really is and only acts when it is best to do so.

With our finite minds and limited perspective, we cannot see what He sees, therefore we must trust that our Father knows best. When we trust and we see that God has been right all along, we begin to have confidence in Him so that next time we can trust Him even more. Over time, if you trust God it becomes habit. Therefore practicing trust creates a good spiritual habit.

Waiting on God while resting in Him

Waiting on God, if done properly, allows us to rest in Him. Control over our lives is mostly an illusion. In reality, there are so many things that can and sometimes do go wrong that we must simply go with the flow, taking life as it comes. Unless God is with us we cannot manage what comes at us. It is like floating down a large, swift river; there is not much you can do but stay afloat. However, since God created the river, the river is subject to Him and He directs it as He wills. Therefore, as we float we pray and trust that our Father has the currents of our existence in His hands.

Waiting takes control our of our hands

To sum up, waiting on God exercises our faith.   Waiting on God also shows that we believe YHWH has the ability to do what He says. Also, waiting takes the control out of our hands and puts it in the hands of someone who can truly do something about our circumstances.

In the end, we realize this life is transitory and nothing is permanent. All the daily things we fret about now are of very little importance in the long run. It is better to wait upon God, allowing Him to lead and guide our decisions, so that when we stand before Him on that day, we have confidence that we have done our Father’s will.
