selfish

Who, me?

I believe that we should focus more on building the Kingdom of God, than building our own Kingdom.  After all, our life is about Jesus and not us.  Perhaps that sounds a bit “full on”, but remember you’ve been BOUGHT at a price, therefore glorify Him with your body and spirit.  Jesus became the Servant King, coming not to be served, but to show us the way by becoming a servant of all.   We are being born again into God’s Kingdom and follow the example set by our  Lord Jesus first and foremost.  If we do this one thing, God says everything else will be added.  You are followers of the Way and ambassadors for Christ. God created everyone with a purpose, so use your life to serve in that God-given purpose.

Leaving selfish desires behind

We have to move away from being selfish. The world markets selfishness and every day we are influenced by its message.  If we are easily influenced by the world and less by God,  we must ask ourselves why. Let us forsake what we want and feed God’s sheep for they are starving.  If we just concentrate on feeding ourselves each Sunday morning, are not we effectively being selfish?

The root of this problem is the end times spirit of self

I can almost see and feel people flinching at this, dismissing it as another “blah blah” sermon about the end times.  Your right, it is yet another message about the world’s headlong rush into the arms of the Antichrist.  However, get real with your faith and recognize the forces at work which bring you down, moving you away from God.

Paul says,

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesian 6:12

So yes, we are under the end times spirit of selfishness.  This spirit is simply Lucifer and you are caught in a colossal lie generated by an evil spirit who Hates both God and you.  God creates the world perfect, but Satan corrupted it, introducing selfishness.  Lucifer, through Eve, embedded selfish desires in man.

Here is a truth,

“The more carnal you are, the more selfish you become.”

So in a world which is so overcome with selfishness and so driven by selfishness, how do you break free of that spirit? Here are some steps to aid in that:

1) You have to repent!

Yes, the world is mucky and has us groaning.  Yet, we still need to repent of our own selfishness and remember,  “we are not our own, but we were redeemed with a huge price”.  Christ died in our place, therefore we owe him everything.  To be selfish is to deny the Lord who loves us.  Take up your cross and do what Jesus wants daily.

2) You HAVE to become Kingdom focused!

Believers focus on building the kingdom of God, not on building their own kingdom. What we say and what we do, is it for our Kingdom or God’s Kingdom?  Everyone has skills and abilities, use them to advance YHWH’s agenda, making kingdom work part of your daily life.

3) Esteem others more than yourself!

Finally, as you lose your life, Jesus says you will gain it back. Look the end time-spirit of selfishness in the face and tell it, ” you have no place in my life!”  Putting other people first changes the whole atmosphere around you. People tend to do what others do around them, and eventually, your selflessness will rub off on others. Be the change you want to see. Be the light on a hill. Let yourself be the hand of God to others. Do unto others as you would have it done to yourself!

Be blessed and be a blessing always,

Kingdomshiers
