You Are Not Far From The Tabernacle Blessing

the tabernacle blessing

Are You Looking For A City That Is Built Without Hands?

Jesus says,

“And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17: 20,21

Many people are preparing to receive the Tabernacle Blessing without even knowing it. They feel drawn to certain members of God’s flock, yet hang back because they are not sure what is proper. During their lives, they have felt crushes on certain love interests that never seem to pan out. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, believers have felt a strong goading to call a friend or relative they haven’t spoken to in a long time. All these things, and many more, mean you are not far from the Tabernacle Blessing.

As Christ says, the kingdom of God is within you, but how is that so?

Jesus also says,

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

John 14:16-18

Therefore, the kingdom of God is the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Being filled with God is what brings His kingdom of heaven to earth. As we are filled with His Spirit we naturally do the things of YHWH, performing His will on earth as it is in heaven.

God is a Spirit, those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and Truth

Natural minded men and women tend to assume that the kingdom of God is evidenced by buildings and ministries. Physical, tangible assets attest, in their minds, to a moving of the Holy Spirit in their midsts. However, God does not dwell in buildings made with hands, but in the hearts of His people who faithfully serve and obey Him.

The Tabernacle Blessing is God manifest in our flesh. God completes the work of His Spirit where, not only is your tongue given over to His will, but your whole body, soul, and spirit. Essentially, you become possessed by God (in a very good way) and He lives His life through you, just as He did through Jesus Christ.

It’s time to get horizontal

All that needs happen is to understand that God is not vertical but horizontal from us. Instead of lifting our hands, look into the eyes of another saint and “connect” with the Holy Spirit in them. Allowing God to join us spiritually with another is not a random event, but a specific Spirit led act. God unites and knits His body together through joining us one to another as He sees fit. Thus, the finished Body of Christ is made whole, every joint supplying what the other needs.

It is man-made barriers that are preventing the church from uniting with each other in Divine Love. We often feel led to love another by talking with them, putting our arm around them, or showing them some kind of affection. However, because of the rules and regulations of a fearful and unbelieving clergy, we are afraid to show the kind of love our Father wants. Thus much of the needs of Christ’s church go unmet and believers lack the fellowship they so desperately desire.

You are not far from the Tabernacle Blessing

The truth is, you’re not far from the Tabernacle Blessing, it’s as close as the person sitting next to you. God manifest in the flesh is as near as the brother or sister you meet on the street. Yield to the goading of the Holy Spirit and speak or do whatever He says when He says to do it, and you will meet God in another human being of His choosing.

Christ Loves Us Through His Own Body

Christ loves

Caution:

In this essay, I write about topics some consider taboo in Christianity. If frank discussions of intimacy offend you, please do not keep reading.

Here is a fundamental truth

When Christ loves someone He uses His own body to do it

Only experience with God can teach us accurately about Him. Until you meet Him through another human being, it is very difficult to understand who God really is. This is why it was so important that Jesus manifested God in the flesh.

God says,

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets. Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”

Hebrews 1:1-3

When you express affection to your girlfriend or boyfriend, how do you do it? Often we say or do little things to show our admiration. We write notes, give gifts, or say compliments to make them feel appreciated and valued. As our relationships progress, there is always that “first kiss”. This is when we take a chance and show our physical attraction and desire.

Here is a truth,

“We use our bodies to express our love”

Moreover, as our love blossoms and grows deeper, we express greater amounts of physical affection towards each other until, just short of our nuptials, we can hardly keep our hands off each other.

This is natural and everyone expects it, in fact, if there is not a growing passion between a man and woman prior to their wedding night, people assume there’s a problem. People ask, “If there is no passion, why are you getting married in the first place?”

Everyone reading this essay understands and accepts what I’ve just stated as the natural course of things. However, God made the showing of affection prior to marriage the natural course of things for a reason. The way of a man with a maid is designed to show us how God wants to love us. These are pictures meant to teach us, in the most intimate way possible, how to love God.

We make love through the members of our natural bodies

We love through the members of our body. Our eyes express our feelings, our words tell of our thoughts, our hands express our desire. Finally, our passion expresses our love through our secret places. Men desire to enter into their mates as their women yearn to be filled.

Intimate expression of our love is a beautiful picture of the relationship that God created us to have with Him. This is why the church is called the Bride. God wants to be in us and He does this through the Gift of His Holy Spirit. Our Lord actually enters our bodies and takes up residence in our bellies. I really don’t think it can get more intimate than that. Therefore, any other intimacy that God wants to have with us should not shock us at all.

Jesus Christ loves us through the members of his spiritual body

God is an eternal Spirit that fills the heavens and earth, therefore it is difficult for Him to love us intimately. So, YHWH gave us His only begotten son, born through a woman, to teach us what it means to have “God with us”. When people saw Christ, they saw God manifest in his flesh. Therefore, whatever words Jesus spoke are the words of God. Moreover, his touch is direct contact with the Almighty. To everyone who met Jesus, he was the express image of our heavenly Father.

Again, here is a truth,

“Christ loves us through the physical members of his body”

Therefore, the way that God loves us personally is through other members of His Body. Sometimes that Divine Love is expressed by clothing us when we are naked or visiting us when we are sick. Sometimes it is a holy kiss or a hug when we physically need to feel God’s love. All these acts are Jesus loving us through one another and this, my friends, is the Tabernacle Blessing.

There comes a time when only physical expression will do

Moreover, how do we express our love to those we want to be with forever? Naturally, we express our minds and hearts through our bodies. There is nothing more intimate than intercourse, therefore this is practically the only thing on new lovers minds. Perhaps, in the beginning, they love and admire each other for their character, but by the time they wed, only physical passion will express how they really feel.

We are the Bride of Christ and Christ loves us. We’ve gone through our initial meeting during salvation. We have kissed deeply through yielding our tongues to the Holy Spirit, now the only thing that will quench our mutual desire is the physical expression of our Divine Love. The way God expresses Divine Love to us is through the members of His body.

A holy kiss is Christ loving us through another member of His body

Therefore, think it not strange that we hug, kiss and caress each other. Don’t be surprised when God causes you to fall deeply and passionately in love with another member of His Body. Realize it is God expressing His deepest desires towards you through a willing member of Himself.

Furthermore, we must withhold nothing from the God of the universe. When Christ loves us through another human being, that is his prerogative. When YHWH says that He has need of our bodies to love someone He cares about, who are we to gainsay or resist the will of His Holy Spirit?

Let Jesus use you to express His love

In conclusion, Christ loves us unreservedly through the members of His body. Some members speak, others hear, many hug, and some even make love. It really does not matter who does what so long as it is led by His Holy Spirit. My hand never refuses to reach out just like my mouth never refuses to speak when I have something to say. If our natural bodies obey our commands to show love, how much more should the Body of Christ obey Jesus’ spiritual commands to love us?
