Beloved
Children are a blessing from above and they are God’s gift to men and women for our future. According to our Father, “Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them”. YHWH has blessed me with my children and even with the orphans I have assisted. I consider it an honor and a divine calling to protect those whom God has put in my care.
Wherever I go in the world I see that people care about children. Mothers love their daughters and Fathers are proud of their sons. People instinctively know that harming a child is wrong. I believe the way people love and cherish children is a good measure of any society, reflecting their hearts and minds before our Lord.
What about our children?
Jesus says,
“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.”
Mark 9:42
When people harm children, everyone is against it. Everyone wants to protect children from harm and seek justice for them if they are terrorized by anyone. I remember one day a dog tried to bite my daughter, I practically killed it without even a moment’s hesitation. Frankly, I did not even consider the dog, just the safety of my child.
One thing I know about good people the world over is that they do value children above all else. Even in the midst of extreme hardship, they will sacrifice to feed their kids. Parents even go without food to purchase school uniforms and pay school fees for their children, hoping for a better future for them. Any parent, when their child is threatened, will do whatever they can to protect them from harm.
Real men protect their children
Like you, I love my children and will do whatever is necessary to protect them. When evil people attack or threaten my children, I feel violated and want to do whatever is legally possible to right that grievous wrong. Like the dog I mentioned, I do not think of the consequence for the one that attacks them, only for their safety.
There are very evil people in the world who care nothing about children, only about profit. There are not many like that, but they do exist. Unfortunately, sometimes they attack and terrorize children in order to force their parents to give them money. Throughout the nations, legal systems call this heinous crime kidnapping and holding for ransom. People who abuse children in this manner are not human in their emotions. They must be brought to justice in order to prevent others from thinking they can do the same with impunity.
God says,
“And this is the writing that was written, Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.”
Daniel 5:25
Like the king of Babylon, sometimes people do evil and lots of it. At that time, God weighs them in His scales and finds them lacking. God judges the wicked and His judgment is final. Though evil men may believe they are above the law, God brings them down with a finality that is frightening to behold.
In conclusion, I ask you as mothers and fathers, “what about our children?” Good people don’t mistreat children and those who dare to harm them must be held accountable by both God and man. I, for one, am standing up to say “no further”. To all evil people, who prey upon the most defenseless of our society. I say that I will fight for my children no matter what or who you think you are. I pray, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that God fights our battle and wins the day through His Spirit.
