The concept of purity in Christianity is more of an idea of what something is not, rather than what something is. Often, believers consider purity as the “lack” of intimacy. I believe that many view almost everything from a standpoint of shame and, until we allow God to help us see beyond our fig leaves, we will never really know the original intent of what God created.
Wisdom is a babe and she is one of the seven spirits of God. That is, throughout the scriptures wisdom is portrayed as female. Though many think that wisdom is a chaste virgin that wears white, I don’t think that is the case at all. In reality, Wisdom is much closer to the picture above. Futhermore, I believe that wisdom is one of the seven Spirits or Seraphs of the Most High God. She is full of God’s Spirit and the primary attribute that she manifests is Divine Love from above. Wisdom is beautiful and, in essence, is one of God’s counselors and a trusted advisor.
Wisdom is a babe
The spirit of wisdom is sensual and she is the wellspring of all eroticism here on earth. Wisdom, the Seraph of the most high, is the very embodiment of intimacy. True, godly love is so broad and deep that it will take an eternity with YHWH to even begin to understand it. Wisdom takes what God has given, uses it for His pleasure, creates something marvelous and bears her children.
The daughters of Eve, because of who they represent, often manifest wisdom. Wives, who love their husbands, are trusted counselors to their mates. Women perceive that which is hidden and they illuminate mysteries. Many times what is not apparent to men, females immediately know as if it is obvious.
God says,
“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.”
Proverbs 3:13-19
Wisdom is one of the “Us” God speaks about in the book of Genesis. She is also part of the us that God took counsel with concerning the Tower of Babel. Wisdom abides with God forever and is joined to Him as a woman is joined to her man, making him whole and complete. Though some may disagree with the notion that we complete God, because “God needs nothing”, yet our Lord desires us and wants to become one with us. Though our Lord is all-powerful, He still longs to re-unite with the descendents of Adam and Eve, bringing forth after His kind.
Jesus says,
“But wisdom is justified of all her children.“
Luke 7:345
In conclusion, for a godly woman to manifest her natural gifting, she should not fear her God-given nature. Sensuality is one of the chief characteristics of wisdom and should be embraced without shame.
