Three Steps To Perfection Through The Holy Spirit
Three Spiritual Steps Are Necessary If You Desire To Experience The Perfection of the Saints
God has set forth a three-step progression, in His scriptures, as a pathway for mankind to come back into perfect fellowship with Him. By this I mean the full, unbroken, sinless fellowship that Adam enjoyed with God before the fall. This way involves three “steps” that are foreshadowed in the Old Testament by three main feasts which Israel kept, year after year, for generations. Each main feast that natural Israel held is a “type” and “shadow” of a greater spiritual experience that we, in the church age, are able to experience so that we can grown into Christ. These spiritual experiences are distinct and necessary steps that, if embraced fully, can actually allow us to come “back” into the sinless perfection of the Garden of Eden.
Consider Enoch,
“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
Genesis 5:24
This is an example of a man who walked with God in such perfection that God “caught up” Enoch into heaven without seeing death. This is the spiritual perfection that God means when He says that someone is “perfect in his generation.”
God says,
“These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.”
Genesis 6:9
It is only mandatory to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior to be saved. However, if you wish to be “perfect in your generation” like Enoch and Noah, you must walk with God as they did.
Step one: Salvation
Salvation is not a one time event but an ongoing process meant to bring believers back into full communion with God. This is accomplished by first opening the way to communion through the salvation experience. When our sins are forgiven, God can again fellowship with us because He accepts the shed blood of Jesus Christ in place of our own. The price of “death” that we owed God for our sin has been paid in full by Jesus’s death on the cross. When we accept his sacrifice and ask forgiveness for our sins, God imputes Christ’s righteousness (counts as if it is ours) to us. This is the only reason that we can commune with our Heavenly Father once again. You cannot go to heaven without doing this.
Step two: Holy Spirit Baptism.
Holy Spirit baptism is the same experience that the 120 experienced in the second chapter of Acts. When we ask to be filled with God’s Spirit (which is the Holy Spirit) we allow God to take over (possess) our tongue. We speak as the Holy Spirit gives us the words. Most of the time we speak in an unknown language which may or may not have an earthly counterpart. The act of yielding, what the apostle Paul says is our most “unruly” member, is the first fruits of our obedience to God. Make no mistake about this, seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not optional but a necessary step. Though you can be saved without being “Spirit filled” you will not be able to reach the perfection of the saints without the aid of the Holy Spirit dwelling in you.
Step three: oneness with God
Oneness is the third and final experience that we can ask for and receive. The Tabernacles Experience, makes it possible to become one with God. Whereas we gave over only one part of our bodies, our tongues, to God when we were baptized with His Holy Spirit, we now allow God to posses our entire being.
Paul says,
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
Jesus Christ is one with God,
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”
Hebrews 1:2,3
Jesus says,
“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; …”
John 14:9
And,
“I and my Father are one.”
John 10:30
Perfection comes through yielding to His Holy Spirit
Each of us can experience oneness with our Father and become part of the manifested (or revealed) sons of God. The sign of this experience is Divine Love. Since God is love, when God fills us with His Spirit we take on His nature: love. Just as Christ is the express image and likeness of God, we, as the many members of his body, become, as a group, the express image of God also. The body of Christ completes and lifts up Christ as our head. This is what God means by the “perfection” of the saints spoken about in the book of Ephesians.
Paul says,
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:”
Ephesians 4:13
And,
“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”
1 John 4: 12
The perfect man or woman becomes one with God
In conclusion, this essay is a present revelation of God. Very few have come into the Tabernacles blessing as of yet, but it is the next great move of God’s Spirit. Divine love is what held Jesus to the cross of Calvary when he could have called more than twelve legions of angels to free him. It is the most powerful force in the world because it is God in us. Wise Virgins seek oneness with as much prayer and supplication as they ask to be saved or filled with His Holy Spirit. This experience is not optional if you want to mature into the fullness of Christ. The Tabernacle Experience is absolutely vital if you want to be part of God’s elect during these last days. Lastly, oneness with God is “prerequisite” to partake of “that blessed hope” and be kept out of great tribulation.
